About Us: Horoscopes By Tarot

Horoscopes by Tarot is a site dedicated to the technique of forecasting horoscopes by tarot readings. Our tarot reader Glen Hayman has used this unique method since 2001 while providing horoscope readings for the Church of Our Saviour Charitable Trust and its former fundraising lifestyle magazine "Sexton Files". As the popularity grew the horoscopes were first transferred to the Church and charity website, and then following continued growth amongst non-members of the Church and charity group it was deemed more appropriate for the Horoscopes by Tarot service to develop its own website.

What is Tarot?

Tarot is a spiritual deck of 78 cards with ancient origins that is used to seek guidance to the future. The deck is divided up in to two main categories, the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana.

The Major Arcana comprises of 22 highly symbolic cards that describe all the stages of a person's life. The Minor Arcana comprises of 56 suit cards that describe a particular mode of life, which in turn reflects one of the four basic elements of astrology (water, fire, air and earth) and the four psychological types (feelings, intuition, thinking and sensation). This is represented in the four Suits; Cups (Feelings and emotions), Wands (Imagination and Creativity), Swords (Life challenges) and Pentacles (money and potential).

In a Tarot reading either the full pack of 78 cards or a choice of the Minor or Major Arcana is used to suit the type of guidance an individual seeks. The cards are shuffled and drawn in a chosen configuration. It is the type of cards and layout of the drawn cards that offers a spiritual guide and interpretation to the person's life and future.

There are some who try to glamorise tarot by making claims to psychic ability. This is not always true. We believe a true tarot reader is one who is more of an interpreter between the cards, the spiritual connection of the cards and the one seeking guidance. A tarot reader interprets the layout of the cards and the type of drawn cards to relay a message to the one seeking guidance.

About Tarot and Astrology

Astrology, in brief, is the theory and practice of following the positions and aspects of celestial bodies, such as planets, in the belief that they can have an influence on Earth's natural occurrences and human life. While we accept this as true we believe that astrology at times can be vague and too open to interpretation to offer in-depth guidance.  We believe that astrology relates more to the matching of seasonal stages in the cycle of nature as a whole, rather than personal lifestyle specifics of humankind.

An example of this is during the season of Spring when the celestial bodies will move through a cycle of positions applicable to that season. Spring to many species is a time of reproduction, birth and to an extent love and relationships. In astrology a practitioner would notice the planetary formation for Spring and can relay predictions involving relationships or birth. However as mentioned this formation is a cycle in nature as a whole not one relating to the dynamics of human relationships. The planetary formations are too vague to offer such specifics as the prediction of relationship disputes or the chances of marriage.

Tarot on the other hand offers more in-depth, specific and personal readings through the detailed meaning of each card. Tarot cards have interpretations that relate specifically to humankind. It allows a connection between the spiritual side of life and the human psyche. The world of spirituality relays guidance through the layout and definitions of the cards. When the person looks deep within their mind, their own feelings and instincts they will see how this message relates to their personal experiences.

If we open our minds to the spiritual side of life there can be a wealth of guidance to assist us in our journey throughout this stage. How much tarot, and even astrology can help you will depend upon your ability to open your mind, seek an interpretation and accept the broader picture.
